The Princess Saves Herself In This One by Amanda Lovelace review

Disclaimer: I was kindly sent an e-arc of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, feelings and opinions remain my own.

“Ah, life- the thing that happens to us while we’re off somewhere else blowing on dandelions & wishing ourselves into the pages of our favorite fairy tales.”

A poetry collection divided into four different parts: the princess, the damsel, the queen, & you. the princess, the damsel, & the queen piece together the life of the author in three stages, while you serves as a note to the reader & all of humankind. Explores life & all of its love, loss, grief, healing, empowerment, & inspirations.

This is one of my first true experiences of poetry and after finishing this masterpiece I am yearning for more. This poetry was incredibly relatable, inspiring and heart breaking. It dealt with serious topics and wove them into poems that were both elaborate yet transparent in its portrayal. These poems will pull at your heartstrings and leave tears in your eyes.
